About Brussels | Brussels Conferences

Brussels is a City and is also the de jure capital of Belgium. Brussels is separate from the region of Flanders in which it forms an enclave or Wallonia. The Brussels Capital Region is a part of both the Flemish Community and French Community of Belgium. The region comprises a population of 1.2 million and a metropolitan area with a population of over 1.8 million which is the largest in Belgium. The secretariat of the Benelux and the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are situated in Brussels. The City of Brussels is the location of many national institutions. Neuroscience

Belgium is one of the best performing country in neuroscience researches. According to the report, the global demand for cancer diagnostics was valued at 80.67 USD billion in 2014, and is expected to reach USD 128.6 billion in 2020, as it is growing at a CAGR of 7.6% between 2015 and 2020.

Engineering

Europe was the second-largest market for engineering plastics in 2014 as Belgium is one of the leading producers of engineering plastics. The Belgian Engineering construction industry had total value of $68.7bn in 2015, representing a compound annual rate of change (CARC) of -0.4% between 2011 and 2015.
