Bratislava is a capital city of Slovakia with a population of about 450,000. It is a country's largest city which borders Austria and Hungary. The only capital that borders these two independent countries. Its a home to several museums, universities, theatres, galleries and other important educational and cultural institutions. It is the second-largest city in Slovakia. Bratislava is located on both sides of the Danube River, which is the chief transportation route to other areas. Bratislava lies in the North Temperate Zone and has a moderately continental climate. One of the most obtrusive structures in the city is Bratislava Castle situated on a plateau of 85M above the Danube. It is the most less populated residential area in Central Europe. The Bratislava region is the wealthiest and most economically prosperous region in Slovakia.
University of Istropolitana is the first university in Bratislava in Kingdom of Hungary was founded in 1465. Bratislava is famous for its largest university that is Comenius University with 27,771 students and the largest technical university is Slovak University with 18,473 students and the oldest Art schools. The city is one of the few European capitals to have neither an observatory nor a planetarium. The Slovak National Museum founded in 1961, has its headquarters in Bratislava.
