Hamburg,is the second largest city in Germany is situated on the Jutland Peninsula between Scandinavia and continental Europe. It is native to one of the biggest harbours in Europe. Hamburg is mainly surrounded by two rivers namely Binnenalster (Inner Alster Lake) and Außenalster (Outer Alster Lake).It has a population of 1.734 million (2013). This affluent city is a leader in media and transportation. In 1189 the city was declared an Imperial Free City. The city beame a member in  the Hanseatic League in 1321, and over time became an important trading hub due to its port and harbor. Today it is one of the busiest ports in Europeand also globally recognised port, and many cruises include Hamburg on their itineraries. Hamburg's summers are pleasantly warm rather than hot with an average of 22°C. The city's northerly location accounts for its cool climate during winter.

Globally, the number of countries using new vaccines is increasing and vaccines such as rotavirus are used in  81 countries and the percentage is  increasing significantly and pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (128 countries) use has increased, but global coverage remains low at 23% and 32%.

Worldwide expenditure on cancer  drugs which also includes therapeutic treatmentslike chemotherapy,immunotherapy and supportive care has increased 10.3% in 2014 and reached $100 billion, up from $75 billion in 2009. Future spending on oncology medicines through 2018 is expected to rise in the 6-8% range annually.The current market trends in cancer research and funding is increasing exponentially as seen in the graphical representation.

Engineering

Hamburg is famous for its harbour, trade, logistic, aviation engineering, mass media and novel industries, information technology. About 12% of Hamburg's total employment is related to the harbour and has increased rapidly in recent years. Around 16.8% employment is in manufacturing and construction,31.7% by trade/ transportation/computer science engineering.

The University Heart Center Hamburg offers treatment of wide spectrum of cardiovascular diseases.German Centre for Cardiovascular Research releases 3 million euros every year for different projects. The total EU contribution is estimated to be over € 163 million in cardiovascular diseases.
