Bournemouth is a large coastal resort town on the south coast of England directly to the east of the Jurassic Coast, a 96-mile (155 km) World Heritage Site. According to the 2011 census, the town has a population of 183,491 making it the largest settlement in Dorset. With Poole to the west and Christchurch in the east, Bournemouth forms the South East Dorset conurbation, which has a total population of over 465,000. Before it was founded in 1810 by Lewis Trego well, the area was a deserted heathland occasionally visited by fishermen and smugglers. Initially marketed as a health resort, the town received a boost when it appeared in Dr Granville's book, The Spas of England. Bournemouth's growth really accelerated with the arrival of the railway and it became a recognized town in 1870. Historically part of Hampshire, it joined Dorset with the reorganization of local government in 1974. Since 1997, the town has been administered by a unitary authority, giving it autonomy from Dorset County Council although it remains part of the ceremonial county. The local council is Bournemouth Borough Council.
The UK is the 9th largest pharmaceutical market in the world, and the sector makes a greater contribution to the UK economy than any other industrial. The Industry is particularly important in terms of its research and development (R&D) support and the pharmaceutical sector itself accounts for more UK-based business R&D than any other manufacturing sector. Growth rates are now significantly slower than in previous years, due to slowing R&D pipelines, declining R&D and healthcare budgets, rising prices, impending ‘patent cliffs’, increased regulatory controls and raise in pricing pressures. In addition, public spending cuts especially in the health sector and tighter NHS spending are forecast to impact depressingly on the pharmaceutical market.
The UK is ranked as the second most attractive market to pharmaceutical shareholders in the Western Europe region, standing slightly below Germany and above Austria. The UK's score is boosted by its billion dollar drug market and relatively high sector value growth.
According to market analysis, employment trends in nursing sectors have been increased in the past 6 years. The statistic presents the total number of employed and self-employed nurses in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2010 to 2016. In 2013, there were 593 thousand nurses in employment in the United Kingdom.
The global Neuroscience market size will reach $30.80 billion by 2020 from $24.09 Billion in 2013, growing at CAGR of 2.9%, rising investment in R&D resulting in the development of numerous products in the neuroinformatics coupled with adequate funding from the government are key factors that drive growth in this market.
The global Immunology market is expected to experience continued growth, from $61.5 billion in 2015 to $74.2 billion in 2022, at a compound annual growth rate of 2.71%.
The statistics presents the total number of deaths from different cancers in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2014. In 2014, there were 163,444 deaths from cancer in the United Kingdom.
Cardiovascular disease drug market is expected to demonstrate healthy growth rate due to the increasing incidence of population suffering from cardiovascular disease and rising number of obese and diabetes patients. Poor life style, geriatric population and presence of high number of innovative drugs under the clinical studies are other key factors expected to fuel the market growth.
