Before the crisis in Greece, total pharmaceutical expenditure in Greece nearly doubled, from 4.329 billion Euros in 2004 to 7.788 billion in 2008. In the same time period in Greece, the pharmaceutical expenditure of the public system (i.e. social health insurance funds) increased gradually from 2.4 billion in 2004 to 4.53 billion in 2008 and reached the all-time peaks of 5.1 billion in 2009. Per capita pharmaceutical expenditure increased from under D 200 in 2000 to almost D 700 in 2008. According to OECD data, this was the highest in the EU in 2014

Nursing

The study is based on critical analysis of the statistical data for nurse professionals in Greece and empirical sociological inquiry organized in the period April 2009 – December 2014. Primary information was collected through direct group self-administered questionnaires distributed to 337 nurses – students in baccalaureate and master programs in Healthcare management. The most of them were staff nurses (63%) and 37 per cent were nurse managers.

Immunology

According to the market study, in Greece, €633,000 has been set aside for the bilateral national fund. Among the target areas for the fund, are children & youth, combating drugs and organized crime, promotion of European values and nuclear energy decommissioning.

Neuroscience

Strengthen the EU’s position in science with a dedicated budget of € 24 341 million1.This will provide a boost to top-level research in Europe, including the top European Research Council (ERC). Strengthen industrial leadership in innovation € 17 015 million1. This includes big investment in key technologies, greater access to capital and support for SMEs. Provide € 30 956 million1 to help address big concerns shared by all Europeans such as climate change, developing sustainable transport and mobility, making renewable energy more economical, ensuring food safety and security, or coping with the challenge of an ageing population.

Cancer

For charities, the average budget spent per charity was €21.5 million, and the median spending was €400,000. Among governmental agencies, the average budget spent was €21.4 million, and their median spending was €1.9 million. In 8 countries, there was no cancer research spending by charitable organizations, while in three countries, there was no spending by governments. In eleven countries, charities spent more amount on cancer research than did governments.
